Decision due on magistrates’ court building

Harrow Council’s planning committee is due to make a decision on unauthorised changes to the former magistrates’ court building at a meeting tonight.

The building in Rosslyn Crescent is now owned by Asian charity the Jaspar Foundation which has applied for permission for a series of alterations to the Grade II listed structure, including the removal of walls and original features.

Residents and historians were shocked by the scale of the changes, which were carried out contrary to rules designed to protect listed buildings

An application for retrospective listed building consent will again be considered by the committee this evening, after members delayed making a decision in order to visit the site.
