Plans to block access to anti-social behaviour hotspot

HCRA is working with local police to look at ways to stop drug addicts and drinkers gathering in a secluded passageway that runs behind homes.

Association members met with Greenhill ward’s neighbourhood policing team to look at options for limiting access to the car park and adjoining passageway behind Mobility World – at the same time as maintaining historic rights of way for residents.

New metal gates to the car park entrance were recently installed as well as a wooden gate for pedestrians. But the area can still be accessed by a small alleyway leading from Station Road.

One option could be to gate off the alleyway and have keycode locks for both that gate and the other pedestrian entrance.

Then police team is going to discuss this option and other possible security measures with Harrow Council officials.
