Rosslyn Crescent will be getting new street lights in January, Harrow Council has promised.
A new type of street light with a steel column and white light will be installed. However, the council has said residents will have no say in the positioning of lights.
“In order to reduce energy consumption and comply with national lighting standards, the design briefs and very specific,” says a leaflet sent to residents.
“Bearing this in mind we are unable to consider individual requests for column positioning.”
Where possible the new lights will be placed at the “back” of pavements so they are less in the way and streets look less cluttered.
Work is due to start in January and finish by the end of the month.
The council says it should not cause too much disruption to residents but people may be asked to move their cars.
