Residents have been told to be vigilant after a burglary at a house in Rosslyn Crescent in broad daylight.
The break-in took place at about 1.30pm on Monday (June 18).
Police have not published all the details of the incident but it is understood the offender or offenders broke in through the front door.
They are thought to have fled after surprising a householder who was at home at the time of the crime.
Local police have urged anyone who saw anything suspicious to make contact with the Greenhill Safer Neighbourhoods Team.
In the meantime they advised people to take sensible security precautions including closing windows when going out and keeping valuables out of sight.
