Residents have been alerted to a suspicious roofing company that has been touting for business in the local area.
Men working for the suspect firm approached at least five households in Roxborough Avenue last week.
They arrived in an unmarked white van and tried to get up onto people’s roofs.
Where they did gain access they identified various problems and offered to fix them for a substantial fee.
In some cases they demanded money for “work” they had already carried out while up there.
One family ended up handing £150 simply to get rid of one of the men who was pressuring them to pay up.
The firm have a genuine-looking website complete with contact details but Harrow residents have been warned to be wary of people using these kind of tactics.
