Developers have unveiled plans for a large HMO (House of Multiple Occupation) with 32 bedrooms to be built at the top of Woodlands Road.
The new three- and four-storey building would be erected on the car park behind Kirkfield House.
Developers and planners claim it will create much-needed cheaper accommodation in Harrow for young professionals.
But neighbours fear the building could over-shadow neighbouring homes and create problems with parking and bins.
The proposed development would feature a reception area with 24-hour concierge. Some rooms would have kitchenettes while others would share two kitchens with dining and lounge areas.
It would reduce the total number of parking spaces for the HMO and Kirkfield House – which was recently converted into flats – to 17 spaces.
Residents would not be eligible for parking permits for Woodlands Road, according to the plans, which also say the number of occupiers with cars is likely to be “very low”.
